Was it ever a surprise to see Candice Michelle standing tall and triumphant over erstwhile women’s champion Melina at the Great American Bash? Candice has indeed been criticized over and over again and this time around, she proved once and for all, her victory last time out was no fluke.

This time around however, it was not easy road as Melina stepped on the gas and gave Candice quite a beating. Many of her detractors at one point were starting to question and surrender at her reign but owing everything to heart, Candice still found enough strength and will to pull off the win. The win of course made Melina all the more furious, still declaring that Candice’ title reign was luck and she was a fluke.

While Candice fully knows all of this, there is no question that her efforts at last night’s pay-per-view made believers out of WWE fans who continuously doubted her capabilities. But after the match, many paid tribute and admiration to the efforts that Candice had made to retain the title and live another day for the next challenger.

With that said, Candice has proven once again she is no pretty face that will simply die. She will continue to defend and compete with all her heart and sad to say, other aspiring divas including Melina may have to work harder than resorting to dirty antics to try and get the belt away from Candice Michelle. Tough luck gals, try again next time!
